The Vintique Flea was this past weekend and it was a fun show. Traffic was a down, but we still had great customers. For this show I rented a truck, loaded it Thursday night and Friday morning I drove the truck into Houston. I dropped everything in my space and this is what it looked like. Not really inspiring is it? Setting up for these shows is always such an interesting time for me. I have a general idea of what I would like my space to look like, but it is such a process to get there.
At this point I had made a little progress. I had help unloading the truck, but everything else I did by myself.
Here we are! This was how my booth looked for most of the show. Of course I moved things around as the weekend wore on. The green roof vent was from another dealer at my shop. I love how it looked with the rest of my set up. It sold Friday night to another dealer, but I could have sold several of them throughout the weekend.
The show is a fun event, with several food trucks outside. I look forward to having a Maine Lobster roll at each show. Cousins Maine Lobster has FANTASTIC lobster rolls. I don’t know if I have ever mentions, but I was born in Northern Maine and most of my cousins still live there. I love the name of this truck, but it makes me miss all of my family.
Here are a few more pictures from my booth on Sunday. These books were right out front and so many people stopped and looked.
One of two things I purchased at the show, this amazing set of vintage lockers is now in our home. These are big and they are heavy. Funny story with these lockers, I forgot to load them up after the show. I was just so ready to get out of there. So I had to drive all the way back to the warehouse and load these and drive home and unload my other truck. Then we had to have a friend stop by to help get these into our house, but now they are ready to be filled with backpacks, shoes, jackets and whatever else my children drag into the house.
It was a long weekend, but it was fun. I made some great friends, talked to great customers and sold some beautiful treasures. The next Vintique Flea will be June 4 and 5. I won’t be able to sell during that show because of a previous commitment, but you might find me doing a little shopping if I can get down there, and of course eating a lobster roll.
